Agree on the kind of exchange
A lend is returned without a rental charge. A gift changes hands without a return. A rental has an agreed price and return plan. Confirm which one you are arranging.
Describe the condition, included parts, availability and care instructions. Photos can help explain an item, but listing photos are optional.
The item value limit is $500. Before lending or renting, agree on the item's stated value and care terms. Borrower responsibility is limited to that stated value under the accepted terms. This item limit does not apply to golf carts.
Make pickup easy to understand
Confirm the time and the handoff plan with the person involved. Share an exact location only with the people who need it for that exchange.
Check the item together when possible. If its condition or included parts differ from the agreement, resolve that before proceeding. Do not mark a handoff complete before it has happened.
Finish the return or gift handoff
Return a borrowed or rented item at the agreed time with its included parts. Check its condition and confirm that the return actually happened. A gift finishes with its agreed handoff.
If you are running late, contact the other person and agree on the next step. A changed time needs confirmation; sending a message does not automatically extend an agreement.
Handle a change or cancellation
Tell the other person when a plan no longer works. Review what still needs to happen before cancelling, especially if an item has already changed hands or a payment was made.
Cancellation does not confirm a return or a refund. If an item is overdue, damaged or missing, keep the relevant details and contact support without publishing private information.
