Room for the everyday

A clear need makes it easy to help

Say what you need

Name the item or the help, and the details that would help a neighbor decide. A folding table for Saturday beats party supplies.

Give it a useful date

Choose the date in the community's local time. Add a time when it matters, and settle the handoff with whoever helps.

Choose a reply

A response starts a conversation. Check the dates, responsibilities and any price before you agree.

A simple way to start

A little planning.
A good experience.

  1. Say what you need

Post an ask with the item or help, how many and the date. Keep exact pickup spots and contact details out of the text.

  2. Hear back, then make a plan

A neighbor replies. Talk it through, then check the offer, dates and any price before you accept.

  3. Keep it current

Edit what has changed, and close the ask when you no longer need it. Closing an ask does not cancel an agreement you already made.

A little know-how, shared

A specific ask gets a better answer.

Posting an ask does not guarantee a reply or a match. A few clear details give a neighbor something to act on, and you choose the response that meets your need.
